Hi Lausanne, how was your long weekend? We hit the Lake, sipped some bubbly over lunch – just because we could, and even made a traditional tarte aux pruneaux to mark the occasion. Why can’t every Monday be congé?!

This week we’re especially excited about the new exhibit opening at MUDAC, which looks at that ubiquitous object – the sneaker – and considers the social implications of its evolution from sportswear to fashion statement. We can’t wait to see what the curators have been up to!

Also in the cultural space, have you see this ephemeral exhibit – traces de passage – set in a building that will be demolished with the expansion of the train station? It’s only on for another week – and this is your last chance to see the works as they’ll have be destroyed with the building.

The Comptoir Suisse announced last year that it would be closing for good, but bienvenue to the Comptoir Helvetique.

  • LG Trail – this crazy lake-to-summit 120 km trail will begin in Lausanne in the middle of the night! There is also an LG Urban Trail (18 km) starting at Stadium Pierre de Coubertin at 9pm.

  • It’s the Train du Papet Vaudois–which may be one of the most local sounding excursions we’ve come across.
