We’ve been in a bit of a food rut lately–falling into the same routines, at the same restaurants, ordering the same dishes. So the other day we both had a free lunch and decided to try something completely different. We hopped on the bus from St. Francois and five minutes later found ourselves at Keyann Cuisine.
Keyann’s space itself is lovely. Separated into two (or three, counting the terrace) separate dining spaces, you have the option to choose a cozy and familiar vibe in the front room (with a kid’s play corner situated nearby) or a more formal yet unpretentious back dining room. Regardless of the room, however, large windows border the restaurant, flooding in the morning and afternoon sunlight and giving it a warm and airy feel.
And the food. Ah the food. We’ve always had a soft-spot for Lebanese cuisine–there’s something about the fresh flavors of parsley balanced with the acidity of citrus, as well as the incorporation of the spice blend called Za’atar that awakens our senses and make us feel satisfied and nourished. It’s healthy, it’s flavorful, and it’s just so fresh. We also love the fact that they offer variation and encourage you to try all.the.things. by proposing a mezze platter on the menu.
And that’s exactly what we ordered…because we always want all.the.things. when it comes to food.
The portions were perfect, the mix of flavors phenomenal, and the service was friendly and familiar. We think Keyann is a great spot for a lunch with friends or even a date night out when you’re in the mood for something fresh and pleasing to the palate. And we recommend trying the mezze, because who doesn’t like to have it all?
