Oh springtime, you tease.

There are some great events going on this week, so dig out those sweaters you’d optimistically packed away and pull out your agendas!

First up, don’t miss these two wonderful events that finish up after this week:

  • You have until May 7th to stop by the Moi Aussi open air exhibit at Place de la Louve. We highly recommend taking some time to view the beautiful photography and read the inspiring stories of living life with Downs Syndrome.
  • The Fête de la Tulipe on the waterfront of Morges is over on Sunday.

Monday

  • This concert at the Chamber Orchestra looks magical – Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream with a musical interpretation from Mendelssohn. We’re intrigued…
  • Learn how to turn your balcony into a beautiful garden at this lecture hosted by the city and featuring a specialist of local plants.

Tuesday

Wednesday

  • Science meets art at this CHUV lecture on what it means to be an Augmented Human.
  • The high school student choir of Lausanne takes on Mozart and Fauré in this concert at the Cathedral.
  • If you’re someone who loves a deal, you’ll want to hang on in the FLON this Wednesday – the Point Rouge event means there are discounts to be had at nearly every shop and restaurant. Except Telsa. Bummer. 😉
  • Children’s story hour at the Palais de Rumine.

  • Sondheim’s dark fairy tale musical Into The Woods is coming to Nyon, and the cast, orchestra and stage design are all sure to impress! Curtain rises on 3 May and there are six chances to catch this unmissable production. Grab your tickets here.
  • Brazilian music and dancing at the Auberge de Beaulieu.
  • Fête de la Danse takes over many of the cultural spots throughout town. Check out the program for more details on specific activities. Parents, there’s a lot in there for your kids!

Saturday

  • There isn’t much we love to celebrate more than wine. We’re looking forward to checking out Epesses en Fête and raising a glass to one of our favorite little wine villages in Lavaux!
  • A murder mystery dinner at the Hermitage museum – how fun is that?!
  • In the market for a second hand bike? Check out the Bike Fair at Place de l’Europe.

  • Is there anything that says “summer is coming” more than pétanque with friends?! We love this concept!
  • The Flon is hosting a vide-grenier all day.

Sunday

  • It’s the 20KM de Lausanne today! If you’re not running, come on out and cheer us on–something tells us we will need a bit of encouragement to conquer those hills 😉
  • The Sinfonetta de Lausanne pays tribute to three American musical masters at this concert.
  • Fête de la Danse takes over many of the cultural spots throughout town. Check out the program for more details on specific activities. Parents, there’s a lot in there for your kids!
  • It’s Family Sunday at the Musée de l’Elysée – from 2pm free activities are organized for families.
  • Art and Brunch at the Hermitage Museum.
