Lausanne is a city that holds such charm, that we cannot help but love to love in this city. Whether you are celebrating Valentine’s Day with the love of your life, or with friends you hold dear, we wanted to compile a list of our current top picks that romance us here in Lausanne.

LP’s Bar/Brasserie Grand Chene: Upscale and classy, but doesn’t break the bank. The 20CHF cocktail pays for itself in terms of ambiance at LP’s bar; live piano and singing, spectacular people watching. Then head next door to the Brasserie Grand Chene for their seafood specialties (aren’t oysters a natural aphrodisiac?).

La Grappe D’OrAsk to sit at the romantic table situated right by the roaring fire–it was David Bowie’s table after all. The extensive wine list, incredible Italian inspired dishes, and the cozy atmosphere make you want to snuggle up and get just a bit tipsy while indulging in truffle pasta.

Le PerroquetSmall hidden corners, low lighting, creative gin and tonics, and a flavorful menu make this spot a perfect date night location.

Amici: Is the warm Italian welcome not enough? After kissing Francesco hello, you’ll be able to sit back and be whisked away by the romance that is authentic Calabrian food. The pasta! The meat! The fish! We recommend you let the waiter order for you–the surprise has never been disappointing.

Nandanam: Some like it hot, and some like it super spicy. If you’re the latter, head to Nandanam–the flavors and variety will keep you on your toes, and the atmosphere is cozy and lively. If you order the garlic naan, just make sure you have a few breath mints handy 😉

Eligo: If you’re looking for a more sophisticated, elevated, and downright delicious  meal, look no further than Eligo: it’s approachable, and has a Michelin star.

Café du Vieil-Ouchy: For an Alpine experience right here in the city, head down to the lakefront to this intimate spot, where you can stare into each other’s hungry eyes over a pot of melted cheese. Yum.

EatMe: For the restless and fickle, who have a hard time choosing just one [plate/drink/not partner…!], there’s this hip restaurant that allows you to taste your way around the world through a tapas style menu. Their cocktails are also out.of.this.world. Find our review here.

Bottle Brothers: Cocktail connoisseurs and amateurs unite within the dark, intimate restaurant and bar. Small or large plates, to share or not to share, the choice is yours!
