Joyeux Noël! Frohe Weihnachten! Buon Natale! Merry Christmas, friends!
Santa has a lot on his plate in December, but at The Lausanne Guide, we’ve also been working on some holiday surprises and storing them up our sleeve.
We are so grateful for you, our loyal readers, and Christmas is our chance to show you how much we love you by sharing some of our favorite products and services through our Christmas giveaways. We’ve been at it since 2012, so The Lausanne Guide Christmas giveaways have become something of a holiday tradition around here. They’re not exactly on par with carols, red bows, or eggnog. But sort of. 😉
This year we’re paying homage to our beloved adopted country by giving away Swiss or Swiss-based products and services that are especially close to our hearts. As you’ve probably gathered from our use of English and our preference for ‘z’ over ‘s,’ we’re both American transplants here in Lausanne. And being American, we thought we’d seek a little inspiration from our cultural heritage, specifically from the painting American Gothic, for this year’s giveaway theme. With our tongues firmly in our cheeks, we’re wearing lederhosen and dirndl and juxtaposing the old with the new. Yes dear readers, you read that correctly. We give you…
A huge thank you to the ever talented Hayley Hay who lent us her fine art photography skills to capture the perfect dose of irony and fun. Dressing up in traditional alpine garb and gallivanting around Chalet-des-Enfants on a rainy Tuesday morning with a two-week old baby is definitely something that will go down in The Lausanne Guide list of crazy ideas too hilarious to forget anytime soon. Also, thank you to Chalet-des-Enfants for hosting all of that gallivanting.
Over the next five days, we’ll be using these photos over on our Facebook and Instagram pages to unveil our fabulous gifts. For a chance to win, check out each post which will ask you to leave a specific comment and tag a friend. And of course, commenting on both Facebook and Instagram gives you more chances to win! Let the festivities begin 🙂
