Vernon Dubner, Man.of.style.
We’ve been friends with this dapper fellow for years now. He’s the creative flair behind Dubner Moderne Art Gallery and a fixture in the entrepreneurial community here in Lausanne. As a graduate of EHL and a local business owner, he’s deeply rooted in the city. But Vernon brings a touch of his native home–NYC–to the way that he dresses. (This man can rock a bow tie better than anyone we’ve ever met.) And each time we see him, we can’t help but comment – “Vernon, you’re making Lausanne look GOOD.”
His style is impeccable, but the best thing about Vernon is that he embodies class. Grace and elegance mix with unassuming sincerity and a surprising lack of pretension for a man who spends a good bit of the year attending art fairs and exhibitions. We love the way that his art gallery is an extension of this ethos. While art may always carry an element of elitism, Vernon strives to use his space to bring people in touch with beautiful, fascinating works and the artists behind them whenever possible.
We knew we wanted to relaunch our street style series, and so we thought that we might as well set the bar high by asking Vernon if he could spare us 20 minutes on his way to the train station for a weekend in Zurich.
We love how he manages to pull together a comfortable, travel-ready ensemble with enough dressy elements that he can head straight to the bar/restaurant/party upon arrival. And can we talk about the contrast of that slight shimmer in his shirt with the wool of his tie and vest? Even his jacket–a classic cut, but in a casual cotton fabric–is perfectly versatile for a weekend city break.
Oh, and these socks (!)…
This monogrammed weekend bag is the cherry on top.
Bon Voyage, Vernon! Thanks for letting us capture this fabulous look.
