In Lausanne we like to eat. Fortunately for us, our friends at the Lausanne à Table association have put together a fabulous event calendar for this year!
From the most traditional Easter egg hunt for children to the delightfully inventive chocolate tasting on a boat, the Lausanne à Table line up has something for anyone who enjoys indulging in well-prepared food and treats.
Want to learn how to grow your own herbs and then make cocktails with them? Check. Or maybe compete against your neighbors in a cooking competition à la Top Chef? They’ve got you covered. Or perhaps you don’t want to do any work at all and would prefer to drink some wine from the city’s vineyards. You can do that too.
Fancy food snobs will probably want to stay home. Something we absolutely love about these events is how they connect us to the land around us. They’re all about the “terroir” and the stories that it tells, stories about boutefas, a dash of patriotism, and very-aged, local wines. Of course, that doesn’t exclude the possibility of an escapade to Asia.
The Miam Festival (which includes the food truck festival!) is sure to be a highlight. We’re hoping that maybe this year we can finally make it to the Grande Table des Lausannois with all of the fanfare and mystery it brings. And seriously – Yoga Brunch at La Jetée de la Compagnie? Yeah, we definitely want to check that out.
Each Monday on The Lausanne Guide, we do our best to keep you in the know about the events taking place that week. Many of these events, however, require advanced reservations, so we encourage you to take a look at the full schedule and book your tickets early.
A huge THANK YOU to Lausanne à Table for keeping our streets full of hearty dining and hearty conversation throughout the warmer months.
