Hey friends! There are a few changes to The Lausanne Guide in 2015 that we wanted to share with you…

Working out our editorial calendar for the turn of this year has been a particularly nostalgic and exciting time for us. In early March, The Lausanne Guide will celebrate its 3rd birthday and in full disclosure, neither of us actually believed that we would still be working on this project after three long years. But truth be told, we fall more and more in love with this city, this little piece of the internet and the people that we’ve been honored to collaborate with along the way.

So…we’re not going anywhere. We want to be 90 years old and still telling you where to get the best cocktails in town. 😉 How’s that for a mental image?

But even the best things need to evolve. Until now, The Lausanne Guide has been operating entirely on our energy, free time and the generosity of so many folks in town who have embraced our site and stepped up to help in various ways for free – two names we have to mention are Gabriel Garcia and Bertrand of Le Comptoir fame. However, we’ve reached a point where our limited resources are hindering the growth of this project – basically, our pocketbooks can’t keep up with all the ideas and dreams we have for making this a dynamic space for and in Lausanne. We get so many emails from you with ideas for events and new places to review and frankly we’re tired of having to say “we’ll try,” knowing full well that two people with full time jobs can’t be everywhere at one time.

So we’ve made a decision to introduce sponsorship and affiliations on the site that we believe still provide access to interesting and helpful information for living well in Lausanne. This will include (we hope) advertising on the site, occasional sponsored post and affiliate links.

Transparency is super important to us, so if content is sponsored it will be labeled as such and we will have a high standard of the types of products, events and services we accept as advertisers. As always, we will never review something that we haven’t already tested ourselves. From time to time we will include an affiliate link, which means if you click and make a purchase we will earn a small commission from the retailer. This money will be reinvested in keeping The Lausanne Guide full of new ideas and helpful content. We really appreciate your support!

If you have any questions, send them our way at thelausanneguide@gmail.com and if you or any business owners you know are interested in participating we would love to hear from you.

Thank you again and again for reading. We are immensely grateful for this project and the friendships we’ve made thus far. So here’s to a new year and a new chapter. Thanks a lot, Lausanne. We love you!

PS: Anyone want to come to our birthday party? We think a celebration is in order!

  1. As I mentioned I just discovered your website and even though I never been to Lausanne before, it seems like I'm missing out!

Would I be in the area, I would definitly show up with a birthday cake!

  2. Amazing website but even more amazing persons! You transmit so well the atmosphere of Lausanne; I am continuously enjoying you refreshing articles!

  3. Glad to have you back! Must ask – where's the photo taken from? I like to fill my CH visits with as may hikes as possible!

  4. When and where is the party?! And I have nothing to advertise but will you be setting up anything like a Kickstarter campaign? Because I would donate for sure.
