Global citizens in Lausanne have a new dining home. Eat Me, the city’s newest innovative hot spot, makes it possible to take a culinary trip around the globe in the course of an evening. With the concept – “the world on small plates” – Eat Me’s menu allows you to nibble your way across the continents, sampling both the exotic and the familiar with tapas-like portions, all while sipping on a gorgeous cocktail from their menu of painstakingly crafted concoctions.
Needless to say, Eat Me is a good time.

The airy lounge and stylish back dining room incorporate white window shutters, reminiscent of a colonial villa in a tropical destination. The open kitchen allows diners to observe the hustle of chefs in white top hats as they assemble the menu’s vast selection into beautifully plated dishes. The Eat Me experience is cosmopolitan but exotic, sleek and masterfully executed.

The woman behind the concept is entrepreneur, restaurateur and verifiable force of nature Serena Shamash. Her restaurant’s multicultural and adventurous concept is intensely personal: Indian by ethnicity, Kenyan by nationality and with work experience in the US and Europe, this woman has more than a few stamps in her passport.

After years in corporate and consulting jobs and with an MBA under her belt, Serena decided to honor the burning desire she’d carried along with her for an entrepreneurial project of her own. Passions for food, travel and unique customer experiences converged and the idea for Eat Me was born. She develops the recipes based on her travels and the places she’s lived. One dish we loved in particular was the chicken tikki empanadas, her mother’s own recipe, she confided.

So next time you’re feeling a little bored by the routine, book a table at Eat Me or meet your friends for a cocktail in the lounge. It’s the most delicious way to travel, while leaving your passport at home.
