We had long heard about Café de l’Avenir, but it was an enthusiastic reader recommendation that secured it officially on our list of must-trys. This little Sous-Gare bistro boosts a creative seasonal Italian menu, a coin boucher that more than satisfied our carnivorous husbands, and our favorite: a variety of fresh pastas with over ten different sauces to choose from.
In winter, the interior ambiance is convivial and boisterous – we recommend reserving a table in the considerably-more-charming front room with the bar. In summer, diners linger late into the evening on a shady terrace complete with classic trappings of summertime.
Reservations are almost always required. Although seemingly hidden on the local restaurant scene, Café de l’Avenir has a loyal clientele who swears by its pasta and market-fresh menu. Be sure to say hello to the owner, a jolly big-hearted fellow with a great sense of humor whose personality is part of what makes this place special.

Service and decor are lovely but food is not great and my pasta was among the worst I've had ever.
