This festival has always been a favorite of ours here at The Lausanne Guide; one, because it takes place in one of our most beloved and cherished Lausanne neighborhoods, La Cité (see our post about this area here), and two, because it means that summer is actually here.
This year’s line-up is boasting over 90 different spectacles; from musical bands and DJs to theatrical
acts and literature readings, there will certainly be a showcase of talent that will entertain every taste.
Did we also mention the food and drinks? Local bars, restaurants, and vignerons all set up shop on the cobblestone streets of La Cité, so you can eat, drink and be merry without missing out on the next event. Go exotic with some Thai or Iranian cuisine (situated in Place du Château), or choose from the local fare from Les Produits du Terroir Vaudois (Place de la Rose) or one of our personal favorites, tapas from Cafe du Grancy (Cour du Gymnase).
We even hear there will be a new champagne bar opening this year, from 21h in the Cour de l’Ecole de musique (um…yes, please!).
The festival runs from tonight, July 9, until July 14 (spectacles begin after 17h). Have fun, enjoy our city, and say hi if you see us!
